This week Little Birds went on a walk in the local community to visit the Buddhist Temple. We found out information about who visits and what celebrations take place in this special place of worship.
We were fascinated by the beautiful decorations and Buddha Statue, who the monks worship too.
The Little Birds sang nursery rhymes to the monks.
The monks then played their instruments for us to hear and listen to.
On our final visit they explained about the importance of flowers and fruit as decorations, then they demonstrated flower arranging.
We are so grateful to the monks for allowing us to visit and learn about their culture, thank you very much.
Back in Nursery, we made fish from waste resources and tissue paper after looking at the different celebrations in the story book ‘Let’s Celebrate’.
Other activities we enjoyed included making stars for the night sky display.
