Community

Encouraging our children at DPA to help others teaches them to have a sense of connection and begin to feel part of and care about their immediate and wider community. Having this connection can play a vital part in developing moral reasoning which helps us make better decisions as we grow into young adults.

We have made strong links with local community groups:

Dartford Deeds Not Words Foundation who coordinate donations for local causes.
Many of our DPA families regularly attend the St Albans Church* Community Cafe and their family events.
Safer Communities Alliance CIC who coordinate & facilitate collaborative projects with the community to deliver Energise HAF and Dartford Warm Hubs.

*We have a collection point for non perishable foods in the Infant reception area for the Parish Pantry feeding vulnerable families in our local parish.

DPA is proud to support DDNWF, a  local voluntary group that co-ordinates donations for local needs such as Refuge mother and baby unit, Age UK, Mary’s child, Jasmine Unit, Silver Birch ward, Red Box project and other seasonal appeals such as the winter shelter and toy appeal.

We have a continual collection point in the Infants reception area which our community fill generously for the following:

  • Toiletries – for people who are admitted to refuge or hospital as an emergency
  • Sanitary products – so that no young female misses education during her period
  • Colouring pencils and books – for children away from home in refuge or hospital
