This week we have been caring for the chicks. We enjoyed watching with fascination seeing them grow and develop throughout the week. At group time we handled the chicks very carefully. We absolutely loved it!
This developed our understanding of living things and the world around us. “It is so cute.” “It’s so soft.” We stayed very quiet to be able to hear the chicks chirping!
We participated in craft activities making representations of the chicks using different materials. We loved using feathers, crayons and paint. We also made patterns from chick and bird pictures to enhance our mathematical pattern understanding.
Our Local Walk and Visit to the Pleasance
Another exciting activity the Little Birds carried out was a local walk to St Edmunds Pleasance to observe the environment and listen to the different sounds in our community. We heard birds chirping in the trees and saw dogs being exercised by their owners, as well as noticing the town from the viewing point and the beautiful trees. We even watched the grass being cut by a special machine from a safe distance.
Well done Little Birds for being really principled and knowledgeable on our journey out.
