Wow! Dartford Primary Academy certainly has got talent. At the end of last term, we had the final of DPA’s Got Talent where the winning act from each year group performed to a live audience. The finalists had a gruelling audition process where they had to battle out against the best talent in their class and then their year group to make it through to the final. The finalists were joined by our Young Voices Choir, as part of the final to really showcase the talent we have here at DPA. After all the performers took to the stage, each class, watching live from their classrooms, voted for their winner.
In third place were Leon and Adam from Year 4 who captivated the audience with a magic act which was full of confidence and was incredibly well-rehearsed. In second place were Evie, Conny and Annabel from Year 3 whose gymnastics routine had the crowd amazed with their backflips and no-handed cartwheels. The girls, even though they had the same class votes as the overall winner, were pipped at the post by Ethan, in Year 6, who the judges crowned the overall winner after the split decision from the children. Ethan’s amazing performance of ‘Roar’ by Katy Perry on the piano, played off-by-heart, showcased true DPA grit. Ethan had to compose himself as the key on the piano wasn’t correct and after a few wrong notes and encouragement from the crowd he got himself back on track and was an incredible risk-taker to complete the performance. The crowd even joined in singing along to the piano being played. What an incredible way to end the term and congratulations once again to our finalists and the overall winner Ethan.
