This week in the Nursery we have been working on activities, linked with ‘Anti Bullying week’.
The children wore odd socks on Monday to show it’s ok to be different.
We listened to the story of “Simon Sock” and spoke about the characters in relation to making friends and being kind.
The children created their own patterns on sock shapes, using felt pens.
We looked at the story of ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’ and thought of different ways of how the Big Billy Goat and Troll could be friends. Some children suggested: “Share the bridge”, “Be kind to each other” and “All eat the grass together”. It helped the children to enhance their Personal and social skills.
Then they built bridges to help the small world goats cross the pretend water. This activity developed children’s problem solving and encouraged them to think of different strategies.
Some children played together in the garden making up their own stories, using small world people.
On Friday we celebrated ‘Children in Need’ by making lots of Pudsey pictures including finger painting on Pudsey’s eye mask, using different coloured spots.
We also dressed the teddies in various clothing.
The end of another exciting week.
