Last week in the nursery, we learned about shapes, sang the Shapes song and had fun in the garden being Shape detectives looking to discover them or going on a Shape hunt.
Following children’s interest in natural materials we had an ice challenge. There were people trapped in the ice and children had to free them by using only tooth brushes. We talked about how the ice feels, its texture and explored different ways of brushing so we can be faster in getting people out. All children were focused and did their best to succeed in this tricky job. They shared brushes and pieces of ice and helped each other.
October is Black History Month so we watched a short video about Rosa Parks, talked about her and how brave she was and children made a model of a bus. They decided that this bus will be for everyone and people will be able to sit wherever they want.
