Exploring Colours

Photo of pupils exploring using different colours and mixing them together.

We have been reading the story:

‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?’

In the story we recognised the different colours of the animals.

We talked about our favourite colours.

The children enjoyed acting out the story themselves and reading the book independently in their play.

Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?
An illustration of different animals with different colours.

We looked at the different animals and colours and drew our own representations of the characters. We made sure we selected the correct colour to draw our favourite character from the story.

Extending from this, we explored colour mixing.

The children experimented with the paints. We mixed 2 colours together to watch it change into a new colour!

We explored colours in the water tray. We predicted what colours we could make by mixing different colours together.

We had so much fun exploring colours this week!
