We’ve had a fun-filled week at DPA! All of the children especially enjoyed our Rockstars Day on Friday 1st October to celebrate the re-launch of Times Tables Rockstars! Everyone was very excited to see each other’s incredible rockstar outfits and, most importantly, the day continued to build the children’s enthusiasm towards maths and times tables.
In Reception this week, the children have been exploring the story called ‘Mixed’ as they are looking at feelings and emotions. They have been doing some beautiful colour mixing and created lots of different colours! They also have been exploring the characters within the book and especially enjoyed building houses for them.

In Year 1, the children have been learning and writing about the different types of homes that we all live in. They have also been learning about adjectives and they even tried to include them in their writing about their favourite rooms.

In Year 2, this week, they have started Talk for Writing again and this time they have been talking about their school and how the school helps to promote a healthy lifestyle.
In Year 3, the children have been learning about emotions and how these are related to our mental health. The children then drew sketches which showed different emotions and they had a lot of fun trying to incorporate lots of different techniques used by lots of different artists.

In Year 4, the children have been incredible at using their brilliant communication skills to create some wonderful explanation texts about the digestive system. In their art inquiry, the children had great fun making human dentures.

In Year 5, the children have been writing some very clever job applications for a police officer. They were inspired to do this after they were lucky enough to have the chance to meet a real one last week.
We’ve had an amazing week and the children have all been incredible communicators, inquirers and risk-takers. We’re so proud of everything the children have achieved. Well done DPA!
