Dear Parents & Carers
Throughout the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation we have followed government advice and managed to keep the Academy open and running almost as normal. It has not been easy and I am very grateful to the staff and for your support in what has become a challenging time. As things stand, we do not have any confirmed cases of the virus, but as a result of the government’s announcements, we now have a number of self-isolating staff and also staff who fit the high risk category who are now unable to be in.
You will have received a letter from the Leigh Trust outlining the full closure of the Academy from Friday for all students and staff.
At time of writing I intend to open Dartford Primary Academy as normal until Friday 20th March when we will close as per the current national position.
We have shared our plan for home learning and this is available on our website. We have asked you all to ensure your log ins etc work to enable us to remotely teach. In response to the QR codes not working, Mr Fissel has uploaded to Class Dojo another method for your child to access. Please do check you can do this. We will be unable to sort issues as from Friday morning.
Whilst the exam arrangements are as yet unclear, I would like to reassure all parents appropriate tasks will be uploaded by your child’s year team.
Your support has been incredibly reassuring to my staff and we will continue to update as and when appropriate. Distance between us or not, you and your child remain part of our community and we will continue this at every opportunity.
We fully intend to finish on Friday with a positive and happy experience for our children.
Miss R Roberts
