KS2 Kwik Cricket festival; 4th June 2019 (School Games)

Well done to Lenny, Oli, Adrian, Ryan C, Jack L, Sugaathri, Simaran, Demi, Callum and Pragathi who took part at the Kwik Cricket festival on Tuesday. We played against Wentworth, Bean and Knockhall and won one of the matches. It was great to see them work so well as a team and their confidence grow as the tournament progressed. Throughout the matches, there were super catches resulting in getting some of the opposing team out and members of our team hit the ball far, enabling them to get several runs in one go.

Unfortunately, due to the rain we were unable to play our final match in the group stages and further matches. The organisers and teachers agreed to finish the festival early due to the bad weather which was a shame.

Well done to all of the children involved!

KS1 football tournament; 9th May 2019

On Thursday 9th May, nine KS1 children went to Princes Park to compete against other local schools in a 5 a side competition.

We played Sedley’s, Westgate, Milestone and Darenth and won 3 out of the 4 matches! Goals were scored by Joe, Oscar and Cody.

The children had great sportsmanship towards each other, and the other teams, and happily took turns to be in goal.

Despite the cold, torrential rain and muddy pitch, the children were really well behaved and enjoyed participating! Well done to Oscar, Cody, Sophie, Ellie, Albert, Joe, Joshua and Finley for taking part!

Boys football match; 26th March 2019
On Tuesday 26th March the boys played their last league match of the year…and they WON 4-3! Our first goal was an own goal from a corner by Joe, followed by Ryan C who scored our next goal and Lenny finished with goals three and four! Mitchell did well to save a goal with a brilliant header, Callum, Alex and Ryan P had some great tackles and Mack and Hayden did some lovely passes.

Especially well done to our players of the match; Elisha and Lenny for his two super goals!

It was a great match to watch – well done boys!

Girls football match; 11th March 2019

This term the girls played Hextable Primary School in the FA Cup quarter finals. They played really well as a team, encouraging each other and giving each other advice. Unfortunately we lost and will not be going on to the semi finals, however the confidence the girls showed on the pitch was great to see. Well done to Misa who was player of the match after showing good defence!

It was a great football match to watch, well done girls!

Boys football match; 19th March 2019

The boys have also played this term against The Gateway Primary School. We have a mix of players in the team – some who play for local clubs and some who don’t play outside school. It has been great to see the confidence of those boys who don’t play regularly grow this year, with the support of their team mates. Gateway won this match 5-1, despite some super tackles, passes and runs from our players.

Great playing boys, well done!

Boys football match; 7th February 2019

On Thursday 7th February, we had a match against New Ash Green. Unfortunately due to other commitments or injuries we didn’t have enough boys to make up a 7 a side, so we had to borrow a couple of players from the opposition. After a few own goals, from both sides, the final score was 2-6 to New Ash Green. The boys played really well and the team spirit shone through on the match.

Well done boys!

Boys football match; 26th March 2019

We’re on a winning streak! We played Manor Primary School and after being 3-1 down just after half time, the boys persevered and ended up winning 4-3 in the final minutes!

Well done to Mitchell, Ryan C, Joe and Jack who scored the goals and a massive shout out to Alex who stepped in to be goalkeeper and played SUPERBLY, gaining player of the match.

I’m very proud of all of the boys and how well they played!

Boys football match; 8th October, 11th October, 15th November 2018

The boys football team have had three matches over the past couple of weeks.

The first was against Craylands as part of the league tournament, which was played at Princes Park. Unfortunately we lost that match, but as the first league match of the season, worked well as team.

The second match was against Wentworth at their school and was the first round of the FA cup. We played well, scoring two goals, however Wentworth scored eight.

Our third match was for the National League Trust Cup (6-a-side). We were meant to play one primary school in the quarter finals, however they pulled out which meant we went straight into the semi finals! We played Hextable and scored the first goal of the match. The boys played very well, but the final score was 4-1 to Hextable.

I have seen an improvement in the boys, both as individuals and as a team as more matches have been played. Well done to Lenny, Jack L, Ryan, Joe, Alan, Alex, Callum, Ellison, Elisha, Mitchell, Hayden and Mack who all took part in at least one of the matches.

Quicksticks (hockey) competitions 10th and 17th October 2018 (School Games)

The Year 3/4 competition was 6-a-side, with 4 players on the pitch and 2 players off. Every 5 minutes the players swap positions and the 2 that are off, go on and another 2 players come off. We played 4 matches, with the children gaining confidence as the tournament went on. Unfortunately we only scored 1 goal throughout the day, however the children worked well as a team and had a positive attitude.

Well done to Tryo, Oliver K, Jackson, Elizabeth, Auden and Amie for taking part and representing the school.

Thea Year 5/6 events was 8-a-side and played on bigger pitches. Again, 6 players were on the pitch and 2 were off and they rotated round to play in different positions. We played 4 matches, 2 goals were scored and we won one game!

Well done to Ellison who scored both goals, Mitchell, Keith, Arsi, Chantee, Grace and Dione for taking part and having such a positive attitude towards to the game and the day.
